Welcome to Emmanuel United Church Of Christ

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

Thinking about Lent and giving up something for these 40 days I have come to the conclusion that we have all given up sunshine. Can’t wait for the big snow storm that is supposed to hit tomorrow.

As one church sign that I saw said, “Whoever is praying for snow – Please Stop.”

We invite all of you to join us for our Wednesday night Lenten suppers and services. Supper is a wonderful time of fellowship for all who attend the suppers. The food is deliciously prepared by a member of the congregation and enjoyed by all. For the service time I am going to present a Bible study on “Behold, the Lamb of God”. It begins; “Today we are beginning a journey of discovery, to learn what it means to call Jesus ‘the Lamb of God.’” It is written by Dr. James F. Wilson of jesuswalk. The first study is “Concepts of Sacrifice” , the second is “The Lamb Who Took Our Place”. Hopefully we will get some new insight into the sacrifice that was made for us in Jesus Christ.

The Spiritual Committee has met and will be doing some visitation in the near future. We are working to get our membership rolls to reflect who the members really are. We all need to help support our church in any way we can. There are lots of things coming up this spring that you can read about in the newsletter that will give you plenty of opportunities to serve. Most will require time commitment from everyone. Please consider serving.

Thanks for all you do for our church. I am so happy to be a part of this community of faith. Archie and I thank God that we were brought here to be with you and to serve God in Dorrance and the surrounding areas.
Blessings!

In the same region there were some shepherds staying out in the fields and keeping watch over their flock at night. And an angel of the Lord suddenly stood near them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them; and they were terribly frightened. And so the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. — Luke 2:8-11 (NASV)
